My name is Cassie.
And I am many things: a woman, an avid reader, a new North Carolina resident, a morning person, a proud Penn State alum and football fanatic, a Gilmore Gal, a Swiftie, a writer.
A daughter, a sister, a friend, and most recently - a mom.
Motherhood.
It’s changed me in countless ways, many of which I continue to discover day by day.
It’s challenged me.
It’s broadened my perspective.
It’s made me reconsider ideas I clung to like grudges.
It’s taught me to embrace the unknown and uncomfortable.
And gratefully, it’s inspired me.
The moment I met my daughters for the first time, I felt a euphoric rush of excitement and fear. As their mom, I have the privilege of introducing them to the world, and the responsibility of protecting them from it.
Motherhood, I’m learning, is a tapestry of conflicting yet co-existing emotions.
The Mindful Mama will unfold as a collection of stories and reflections drawn from my own experiences, with the hope that they inspire ideas for them to inherit and individualize.
There is so much I want to pass down to my children. So, here I am, carving out this space for her, but also for myself. And maybe for you, too.
The Mindful Mama posts every Sunday morning (my favorite time of the entire week). By subscribing, you’ll have these posts sent directly to your inbox :)
