You guys. We’ve made it. Finally. I’m talking about SPRING. This has felt like a particularly long winter. My postpartum aligned directly with the winter months. Things feel jarring and scary and frustrating in our country the past couple months. Winter just felt like a lot, okay?
But, I am finding joy in the fact that warmer weather and longer, sunnier days are arriving.
“Joy is an act of resistance.” - Toi Derricotte

As always, I embrace the new season with my own bucket list! Below are items that are on my Spring 2025 bucket list. I try not to overwhelm myself with too much on a bucket list, because then, well that kinda takes the joy out of it if I am feeling stressed to “do it all.”
Devotions by Mary Oliver
Mary Oliver writes beautiful poems centered around nature and humanity - perfect for Spring.
New release! The new
book, coming out this April! I just pre-ordered my signed copy. Can’t wait to dive in! Emily Henry books feel like a Gilmore Girls episode and Taylor Swift song combined. So basically, the best.New release! We Can Do Hard Things by Glennon Doyle, Amanda Doyle, and Abby Wambach. Glennon is one of my favorite writers - Untamed took the world by storm for good reason. Can’t wait to dive into more of her thoughts and wisdom behind this book being promoted as a ‘guidebook to being alive.’
A MARGARITA!
I have been pregnant for the past two Cinco De Mayo’s and margaritas are arguably one of my favorite cocktails so am I doing to indulge in one this May 5th? YOU BETCHA! Plus, street tacos.
Easter Dessert: Cadbury Mini Egg Blondies
I really enjoy baking and it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been able to do it. Easter is the perfect excuse to get back to it. I browsed Pinterest and I’ve decided that Cadbury Mini Egg Blondies look like the way to go. Not too difficult, but a bit more elevated than a typical dessert. I’m excited to make these for my family + my best friend who is visiting us the week of Easter - YAY!!! I CANNOT WAIT!
Iced Lavender Lattes
I’m definitely a seasonal coffee girl. I love hot coffee in the fall and winter. I love iced coffee in the spring and summer. Pumpkin is for fall. Peppermint mocha is for winter. And lavender is the lovely flavor for Spring.
I don’t know why, but I’m feeling the theme of ‘period drama’ for this Spring. Maybe it’s the Bridgerton vibes and Bridgerton feels so springy with it’s flowers and pastels. These seem like particularly classic movies that I’ve never seen and now’s the time to correct that. Here’s my list:
Marie Antoinette
Emma
Sense & Sensibility
Declutter & Organize! Time for some spring cleaning, friends. My hopes are to tackle specific area of the house that I’ve let become a bit of drop zone. One is our guest bathroom that has all our kiddos bathtime supplies and cold/sickness supplies all kinda just…tossed everywhere. I’m also hoping to organize and declutter the closet in our guest room!
I also hope to clean out my closet a little - I’m in a very weird funk with my clothes after being pregnant two years in a row. I think my styles changed a bit since becoming a mom and I have a lot of clothes I only purchased for bump-friendly purposes. I also have many things that I think just simply won’t feel comfortable with the way my body’s changed. Time to say goodbye to some stuff.
A Mother’s Day Picnic
Last year was my first Mother’s Day and we celebrated with a picnic in the park! We loaded up a picnic basket that was my grandma’s and relaxed in the sunshine. Charlie was around 9 months. I’d love to do this again with my girls - but we’ll absolutely need to find a park with a playground to keep our toddler entertained.
We also have a local arboretum (with a playground) that I’d love to take some family walks in.
I’d also love to get to a Tulip Farm that isn’t too far from us, but also leveling with myself that this may be a stretch with my kiddos being so young. I fear we’d get there only for them to be bored and restless so…we’ll see if this happens.
Local Easter Egg hunt
One of the BEST things about having kids is the way they reinvigorate the excitement of the holidays. It’s almost even more fun being the adult that gets to create the magic of it. We plan to take our girls to an Easter egg hunt this year with our neighbors and their boys! They all play so well together and it will be adorable to see them all go crazy for eggs!
Charlie’s 1st Dance Recital
Charlie’s Mommy & Me dance class has become such a sweet bonding time between the two of us, which I think has been helpful for her adjusting to life with a baby sister. I honestly wasn’t planning on having her participate in the recital, but after continuously seeing how much joy she gets from her dance friends (she even hugs her dance teacher!!), I couldn’t resist. I can’t wait for her to have fun and feel celebrated! I’m so very proud of her.
Thanks for reading! Enjoy your spring - buy the flowers, feel the sunshine, breath in the fresh air! What’s on your spring bucket list?
Lavender. Lattes. Love.
I spent so long avoiding lavender as a flavor and for what?! it might be the best latte flavor out there! Love this list and hope you achieve all of your goals <3
